"Green under the Wolfriver" is a 12"x 12" portrait painted in acrylic on double thick canvas of our Shropshire sheep. All our sheep are named "Pam" because we couldn't actually tell them apart. This is "Green Pam" who is marked with green paint. She came to our farm disabled - it was presumed she was stepped on when she was a baby but here, where our sheep are decorative, she is living her best life. She runs around with all the other Pam's in a haphazard fashion and falls quite a bit but she gets up, gives a shake and just keeps on trucking. She and Purps are my favourite. This is based on a photograph I took under our Wolfriver apple tree - The apples are huge! Often 6-8 inches in diameter - they were used in England before the coming of potatoes and give a fluffy light consistency when baked. This year Green overate on apples and almost died but the vet was able to talk her round.
